Tessellation Art of Aiman Soliman
I am a mathematical artist. My graphic artwork features tessellations, optical illusions, and impossible objects. I am interested in exploring the potential of mathematical art to express thoughts visually. I have been experimenting with different ways to intertwine the mathematical content of my graphic art with its pictorial composition. My main inspiration comes from classical western music, which is composed using sophisticated mathematical rules. Yet, it is capable of invoking pure emotions. Visually I am inspired mainly by the work of MC Escher but also by the work of Hans Hinterreiter, Oscar Reutersvärd, Josef Albers, and numerous Islamic artists.
