I wanted to explore the artistic possibilities that emerge from the interaction of tessellations. I began with ray fish forms derived from a simple grid based on the p2 symmetry group, then juxtaposed them with off-grid fish set at varying angles. The resulting composition features both ray fish and manta rays, with symmetries inherited from the interplay between the on-grid and off-grid tessellations.
